    Groundworks Apprenticeship

    Apprenticeships are a mix of work and learning whilst getting paid a wage. ACE has run the ‘Construction Operations’ apprenticeship ‘framework’ which lasts for a minimum of 12 months and typically takes 18-24 months.  Apprentices normally work on site for 4 days and attend ACE 1 day per week.

    This apprenticeship includes learning about ground and site preparation including clearance activities, installing drainage, concreting and finishing works such as laying kerbs and paving.

    You will work towards an NVQ Diploma Level 2 in Construction Operations and Civil Engineering Services – Construction Operations (Construction)Level 2 Diploma in Construction Operations – General ConstructionFunctional Skills Level 1 in English and Maths and Employment Rights and Responsibilities.

    This ‘framework’ will be closed to new starts from 1st August 2020 to be fully replaced by a new ‘Groundwork’ apprenticeship ‘standard’.  ‘Standards’ are the new style apprenticeship programmes, which are designed by employers in the industry.  More information on the new standard here.
