Following a very productive meeting with Oxfordshire Local Partnership (OxLEP) during National Apprenticeship Week in March, we were delighted to be asked to host a skills surgery for local businesses.

The drop-in surgery will help business understand what support is available locally for them, and also how they can start to look at future skills needs by engaging both with OxLEP but also local education providers.

The surgery at ACE is on 2nd May 1130-1430, no booking required.  For more information on this and the other surgeries around the county, check out this article.

Pleased to once again be attending the annual North Oxfordshire Apprenticeship Fair at NOA in Banbury this Thursday 1830-2000.

Banbury remains a great place for us to meet new students and talk about Summer Programme and flexible programmer starts, as well as our free minibus from Banbury for full-time students!

And for those students or parents who don’t get to see us on the night, they can sign up for our March Opening Evening, we’ll have plenty of fliers on the night!!

First Open Morning of 2019 this Saturday 1000-1200. The year has started at a fast pace and so have we, with new students coming onto our courses, and new apprenticeship opportunities.

Come and talk to us about our training programmes and find out about our flexible start dates.

This is a great opportunity to find out about:

• Our vocational courses and apprenticeship programmes
• Our approach to work experience and onward progression for students
• How we support students with English and Maths
• Our 2019 Summer Programme for Year 11 leavers
• Financial support for students

The evening will consist of a tour of the building and the opportunity to watch and talk to tutors and students who will be demonstrating typical activities that are undertaken at ACE by students, both in the classroom and workshop.

We are now accepting bookings for places to attend. More info here.

We’re pleased to be exhibiting once again at the annual Oxfordshire Careers Education, Information, Advice & Guidance Conference at Unipart in Oxford this Thursday, 7th February. With a range of great speakers throughout the day, it’s a brilliant opportunity for careers and support professionals to network, get professional updates and also find out about new initiatives in the field.

Our Apprentice Training Co-ordinator Sorcha will be taking part in a Careers Education event taking place today at Henry Box school in Witney for Year 7-13s. The school are changing the way they approach career development, which includes mixing all year groups together.

So all pupils from Years 7-13 will be involved in career themed activities relevant to the career decisions they are making (GCSE choices, Post 16 choices, etc) but also be stretching and inspiring.

Sorcha will take place in a Human Library session with a number of other professionals from a variety of sectors, which gives pupils the chance to listen to ask people in industry questions about their experiences and backgrounds.

This is also a great way for us to learn more about what students think about our industry and the world of work in general.

Our monthly Saturday Open mornings begin again next month and we’re pleased to let you know all the dates from the remainder of the year. Of course, we are always happy to organise appointments for visitors at other times to suit but our monthly open mornings have proven really useful for prospective students and employers to come and have a look around and talk to our team.

If you’d like to make an appointment to come and see us at another date and time, just get in touch and we’d be happy to arrange this for you.

Our last Saturday Open Morning of 2018 is tomorrow (Saturday) from 1000-1200.

Just because the cold weather is coming (afraid so), doesn’t mean we haven’t got great training courses for you to sing up to, or that employers aren’t looking to take on apprentices (we have at least SIX opportunities today!).  So if you’re interested in construction training for yourself, someone you know or for your business, then make an appointment to see us this Saturday morning.

We have flexible start dates so don’t worry about having ‘missed the boat’!  Talk to us about funding, training costs and student support also.

Email us info@acetraining.co.uk if you’d like to see us tomorrow!

We can’t quite believe it’s half-term already!

Quick reminder of our arrangements:

  1. Apprentices will attend college as normal, on either Monday 22nd or Tuesday 23rd.
  2. Study Programme and all other students attending Wednesday/Thursday/Friday are OFF next week, returning to college from Wednesday 31st October

Our training centre will be open and staffed throughout, so we’d be happy to see any employers or individuals interested in our courses.  Please get in touch on 01865370040 or info@acetraining.co.uk to arrange an appointment!

We will be at the West Oxfordshire Learning Partnership (WOLP) Apprenticeship Fair this evening (Thursday 18th October 2018) from 5-8pm at Witney Lakes Resort.

Students in years 10-13 at the 7 west Oxfordshire schools have been invited and the event is open to the public too, so we know that it will be a busy and enjoyable event and that the students and parents will really appreciate the opportunity to talk to us and the other exhibitors.
