Our students are on a well-earned break the next two weeks so we are taking the time to prepare for September, but also opening our doors to anyone interested in what we do here at ACE.

We have a monthly Saturday Open Morning most months, next week it’s an Open Doors Week. Whether you’re an employer interested in taking on an apprentice, a student thinking about life after GCSEs, or an agency/organisation looking to find out more about what we do….come and see us!

All we ask is you ring ahead so we know you’re coming! Call 01865 370040.

Just over one week to go until our May Taster Day. This is a great opportunity for those interested in construction courses to ‘have a go’ at brickwork or carpentry and find out about our Summer Programme and other training and apprenticeship opportunities.

PLEASE NOTE THIS HAS PREVIOUSLY BEEN ADVERTISED AS TAKING PLACE ON WEDNESDAY 31ST MAY, WHICH IS OF COURSE AN ERROR. WE APOLOGISE FOR THE CONFUSION AND ANY INCONVENIENCE THIS HAS CAUSED.

We have set the dates for this year’s Summer Programme. This has become an important part of the annual calendar which helps school-leavers get a head start on their construction training by spending six weeks on an introductory course to get a grounding on either brickwork or carpentry & joinery.

Our Summer Programme has become a really good way for some students to ‘fast track’ their way towards further training or even an apprenticeship. The course runs for six weeks from 4th July until the 10th August and there are no entry requirements in terms of qualifications.

Subject to eligibility, programme participants could be entitled to a training allowance and support with travel costs throughout the six-week programme. Please ask for details.

To secure your place on the programme, please get in touch with us as soon as possible, either by
telephone (01865 370040) or via email info@acetraining.co.uk.

Since we had to cancel March’s Open Morning due to weather, we’re especially looking forward to this Saturday’s Open Morning 1000-1200.

We take students on all year round so it’s a great chance to come along and see what full-time and Apprenticeship opportunities we have,

Maybe you’re still at school and looking at life after GCSEs……we can show you around and talk to you about our summer programme!

And employers….weather’s getting better, maybe a great time to think about getting an extra pair of hands on board, and what better than to take on an apprentice!

If you can’t make Saturday but want to come and see us, please contact us info@acetraining.co.uk to arrange an appointment. And remember we usually have an Open Morning each month, see the flyer for more info.

It’s difficult thinking about career choices when you don’t always know what to expect from a particular job or workplace. That’s why our Workshop Taster Days are so valuable. We love seeing people come in and handle a brick for the first time, or put a saw to a piece of wood. There’s only so much anyone can learn from a book, from a talk or even a video online….there’s no real way of knowing whether construction is for you unless you come and have a go!

The Taster Days have been brilliant the last few years in terms of helping students identify and confirm their interest in construction, and even discuss our Summer programme and other full-time study programmes for when they leave school in June!

We still have a few spaces on our Workshop Taster Day this Wednesday so please get in touch asap to book yours!

Unfortunately we have made the decision to cancel today’s Open Morning due to weather. Safety of staff and visitors is paramount.

Please check our events and calendar page for details on future events and remember we can make appointments for anyone to come and visit us Monday to Friday, just give us a call 01865 370040.

Wrap up warm and enjoy the rugby!

As part of National Careers Week, we were delighted to take part in a Construction careers fair at Banbury Space Studio alongside a number of other construction professionals and organisations, meeting students to talk about the industry.

Dean helped students to make their very own tea light holder, which we believe will be a very popular Mother’s Day present in the Banbury area this weekend – we’re happy to have helped!

Great start to National Apprenticeship Week this morning with Lyndsey being part of a visit to the A2Dominion Group site at Elmsbrook in Bicester by Victoria Prentis MP. Two of our Apprentices – Ricardo and Connor – are working on that site with Hill Group UK as part of a shared apprenticeship scheme offered by The Apprenticeship & Training Company Ltd.

Lyndsey got the opportunity to tell Mrs Prentis about the need for more apprenticeship opportunities to be made available in our industry. It was great to see progress on site and also meet Barry Wood, Leader at Cherwell District Council, who are committed to supporting delivery of Apprenticeship opportunities on developments in the district.
